Keith has long been off the Zach Wilson bandwagon, and he says it’s time for Tim Boyle to take over as starting quarterback.
“Tim Boyle was here in preseason with this team…he knows this offense,” Keith said. “He knows Nathaniel Hackett’s offense. He was with him with the Packers. That’s why they brought him here. That’s who you play.
“I just don’t think he can be that much of a dropoff from Zach Wilson, because Zach Wilson is already the bottom of the barrel…how much worse can Tim Boyle be than Zach Wilson?”
Keith doesn’t believe there would be much dropoff from Wilson to Boyle, and that the quarterback change could spark some energy into a Jets team that is likely losing confidence in its starter.
Plus, the Jets are still in position to make a run at the playoffs, and Keith believes Wilson won’t be able to get Gang Green to the finish line.
“These games are precious,” Keith said. “These weeks are precious. These seasons are precious to us.”
