Zach Wilson has put together two decent weeks for the Jets, putting Gang Green in position to shock the Chiefs in Week 4 before doing just enough to get his team a win against the lowly Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
Still, Keith is not impressed with the quarterback’s play, and is not buying any stock in Wilson.
“He’s still missing throws,” Keith said. “Even the throws he’s making…it’s still not an accurate throw. He’s just not there yet.
“The kid is just not good. It’s okay guys. You’ve defaulted into a situation where you have to believe. You played the Broncos, and the kid still left some meat on the bone. The kid was still missing open receivers, still missing reads…it’s barely satisfactory.”
While Keith has little to no faith in Wilson, he still sees a path where the Jets can pick up some wins, but it will be in spite of Wilson, not because of him.
“It’s not about Zach anymore. It’s about Breece Hall,” Keith said. “He needs to carry the ball 20 times a game…find creative ways to get him the ball, and don’t put it on Zach Wilson.
“He’s still not doing the basic things that you’re seeing some college quarterbacks do.”
