McMonigle more confident than ever that Jets need to run it back with Aaron Rodgers

After watching Aaron Rodgers throw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, including a 71-yard strike to Davante Adams, and lead the team in rushing, Chris McMonigle is cemented in his belief that the Jets should run it back with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

“Watching this game yesterday, I am as confident as ever that the best plan for the Jets is to keep this quarterback,” C-Mac said. “Keep this team, go out and get an excellent head coach.

“If you watched Aaron Rodgers and saw the way he performed with Davante Adams…it wasn’t just that. it’s not Hall of Fame Aaron Rodgers…but his ability to throw, and he was even mobile in this game. He led the team in rushing! He looked healthier to me. He looks like he’s getting better and healthier. Him and Adams have something going, and him and Garrett Wilson is still a connection that I believe can work with good coaching.”

Rodgers has looked like a shell of himself for much of the season, but the past two games have been promising, especially Sunday, as he gets healthier and more confident in his physical ability. It’s enough for C-Mac to want to see another season of Rodgers, even if it would be in his age-41 campaign.

“He isn’t washed up,” C-Mac said. “Maybe he’s not the player he was when these two were doing this in Green Bay…I think these two wide receivers, with this quarterback, can give you something next year.”
