Jets defensive end Michael Clemons showed up to the first day of training camp on Wednesday looking equally terrifying and spectacular as he wielded a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, a tribute to the character Negan from the hit show “The Walking Dead.”
Clemons was captured in a now-viral slow motion video, strolling in the parking lot shirtless with sunglasses, and of course, the bat, as cameras and boom mics could be seen on the edges of the frame, presumably HBO’s camera crew filming for the show “Hard Knocks.”
The former fourth-round pick certainly made quite the entrance as he gets set to begin his second NFL season, after posting 2.5 sacks in 16 games during his rookie campaign.
The Jets are the first team to open training camp, since they will be part of the Hall of Fame Game in Canton on Aug. 3.
