Moose sounds off on Joe Douglas, Jets for taking on Haason Reddick 'headache'

After listening to Joe Douglas’ comments on Haason Reddick’s continued holdout, Moose sounded off on the Jets GM and his continued use of the word “respect” when discussing Reddick and his agent.

“You acquired the Eagles’ headache from Howie Roseman, and he played nice early, but then Haason Reddick figured out that this is a win-now situation, and he has leverage,” Moose said. “How much respect can you have for the player, who has never played a down for you? If everything has changed, and you’re Joe Douglas and you’re not budging, and Haason Reddick and his agent aren’t budging, how much respect can you have if they went back on their initial word that they would play under the current deal?

“How many times does Joe Douglas have to say how much he respects the agent and respects Haason Reddick?”

Reddick continues to stay away from his new team while seeking a new deal, leading many to wonder why the Jets would have made the trade with Philly in the first place had they known a holdout was a possibility. Instead, the Jets are stuck, Reddick is standing his ground, and there seems to be no immediate resolution in sight with Week 1 less than two weeks away.

“What would lead you to believe right now that Haason Reddick is suddenly walking through those doors and be ready to take on the 49ers next Monday night?” Moose said. “They knowingly went out there and acquired the Eagles headache, and didn’t rectify it.”
