Sean Payton was the laughingstock of the league just weeks ago, as the Broncos looked dead in the water to start a season that began with Payton calling Nathaniel Hackett’s head coaching performance with Denver one of the worst in NFL history.
Now, Payton’s Broncos are on the rise with a win over the Bills on Monday night, while Hackett’s offense with the Jets looks like the one without a pulse.
Gio says Hackett doesn’t come out looking good on Tuesday morning.
“Sean Payton has turned this thing around…and made themselves relevant in the AFC, and Nathaniel Hackett is over here manning the worst offense in football,” Gio said. “And Robert Saleh said yesterday that Zach Wilson is in the first year in this new system which was designed around Aaron, so they’re really trying to figure things out. Still? In Week 11? He’s been out since Sept. 11! You’re telling me you haven’t made the necessary adjustments to go from Aaron Rodgers to Zach Wilson, and you’re still running the same offense Aaron Rodgers would have been running?”
Hackett was supposed to reunite with Rodgers and create magic for the Jets offense, but now armed with Wilson instead, Gio says Hackett doesn’t look much better than he did with the Broncos last season.
“Wow,” Gio said. “Nathaniel Hackett comes across as a total boob this morning.”
