NFLPA report cards show Woody Johnson was graded dead last in league by players

The NFL Players Association revealed its third annual team report cards on Wednesday morning, a process in which players anonymously grade their current teams in several categories to “not only help them make important career decisions, but also help raise standards across the league.”

Jets players did not have a rave review for owner Woody Johnson by any means, or the experience of playing for the franchise as a whole.

Players gave ownership an F grade for the year, good for the worst grade in the league after a big dropoff from last year’s grades. Overall, the Jets ranked 29th of 32 teams in the league when incorporating all the categories that were graded.

Specifically to ownership and Johnson, the voting found that Johnson ranked last in the league in terms of willingness to invest in team facilities, last in the league in “contributing to a positive team culture,” 31st of 32 owners in perceived commitment to building a competitive team.

Last year, the Jets overall grades ranked them 21st in the league, and players this year reported that the organization seemed to make conditions worse around the team and the facility after last year’s feedback. Ownership is where the biggest dropoff was seen, as Johnson got an overall grade of a B- last offseason. In a year where Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas were suddenly fired, players clearly didn’t respond to Johnson’s involvement in 2024.

The Giants ranked 20th in their overall grade, a huge drop from eighth a season prior. Brian Daboll received a B+ grade, while strength coaches and training staff all received positive grades.
