The Jets have already “brought someone else into the building” to solve their kicking woes.
According to Drew Rosenhaus, the Jets are signing kicker Eddy Pineiro (a Rosenhaus client) to their active roster after watching Alex Kessman miss both of his PAT attempts on Sunday.

Pineiro last kicked in the NFL in 2019 with the Bears, a season that saw him make 23 of 28 field goals and 27 of 29 PATs. He missed last season due to a groin injury and has spent time this season on the practice squads in both Washington and Indianapolis.
The Jets cut Matt Ammendola on Saturday and signed Kessman to their active roster after Ammendola struggled with his accuracy throughout November, but Kessman missed two PATs, both wide left, in the first quarter, and was ostensibly benched after that.
Perhaps most telling of Kessman’s situation was that the Jets decided to go for it on 4th-and-goal from the two-yard-line instead of kicking a field goal – a move that worked, as they scored their third touchdown of the day – and then immediately went for two points.
“We got someone else in the building, and we’ll just keep going until something works,” head coach Robert Saleh said after Sunday’s loss.
Kessman also had four kickoffs on the day, but only one was a touchback, and one of the others was taken outside the 10-yard line.
Pineiro was brought in for a tryout last week while the Jets decided between Ammendola and Kessman for Sunday’s kicking duties, and if he is the kicker against New Orleans, he’d be the third in three weeks and technically fourth this league year (former kicker Sam Ficken was released in training camp).
