The Jets will reportedly have their prized rookie back under center on Sunday, while two other quarterbacks will be unavailable.
After missing the last four weeks with a PCL sprain, Zach Wilson is set to make the start against the Texans, according to Connor Hughes of The Athletic. Wilson suffered the injury in a blowout loss against the Patriots in Week 7. In addition, both Mike White and Joe Flacco have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Wilson’s starting job appeared to be in jeopardy, even when healthy, with the dramatic rise of White, who led New York to victory in his first career start once Wilson was sidelined. But White quickly fell back to earth with four interceptions against the Bills, leading to Flacco getting the start against the Dolphins in Week 11. But Wilson, the former second overall pick, will be back in his starting role in Week 12.
In six games so far this season, Wilson has thrown for 1.168 passing yards with four touchdowns and nine interceptions, the latter of which was the highest in the league before his injury.
