The Giants are missing Saquon Barkley as he sits out voluntary OTAs amidst his decision to not sign the team’s franchise tender – and it looks like Gang Green has a star of their own doing the same.

Per multiple reports from SNY, Quinnen Williams is not going to be attending the Jets’ offseason program starting Monday, as he too is discussing a contract extension with the team.

Williams is set to play this year on his fifth-year option, but had said after the season ended that he wanted a long-term deal.

"Everybody knows I’m a team guy. Everybody knows that I believe in the team and want to put the team first and different things like that, but I do want to get a contract done before the offseason program," Williams said after the season. "I feel like I deserve to get a contract done before the offseason program just because I did everything right on the field, everything right off the field, and just having the organization behind me just like I’m behind them to show that they really support me and different things like that is an amazing thing for me. I just want to be compensated for what I am.”

GM Joe Douglas had responding that he believes Williams “has a lot of upside” and the team wants him here long-term, but with nothing done yet now one month after the league year opened, the 25-year-old will be skipping voluntary OTAs it seems.

Williams made the Pro Bowl last season after recording 55 tackles (including 12 for loss), a career-best 12 sacks and 28 QB hits, four passes defensed, and two forced fumbles (with one recovery). His fifth-year option is set to pay him just under $10 million in 2023.
