The Jets contained Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts before pouncing on him in the second half, finishing with three interceptions to give Gang Green an improbable win over the defending NFC champs.
It was the Jets third win of the season, as they have taken down Hurts, Josh Allen, and Russell Wilson in those victories, while coming up just short against Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Chiefs.
For Robert Saleh, solving Hurts was the latest piece of evidence that his defense is the real deal.
“Through these first six weeks, we've played a gauntlet of quarterbacks,” Saleh said. “I know we haven't gotten all wins, but we've embarrassed all of them.
“Just really, really proud of the defense and its resolve…he’s a handful, Hurts, their O-line, their receivers, but our guys battled all the way through.”
The win was also the Jets’ first-ever win against the Eagles, which Saleh made sure to note as he stepped down from the podium at the end of his postgame press conference.
“They ain’t 12-0 no more,” Sal said.
