Robert Saleh would be 'shocked' if Aaron Rodgers only plays one year with Jets

As Aaron Rodgers prepares for his hyped debut season with the Jets, some are still concerned about the future Hall of Famer playing just one season in New York, then calling it a career.

Robert Saleh doesn’t seem to have that concern when it comes to his 39-year-old quarterback.

“I wouldn’t want to put pressure on him to commit to something like that anyway, but I’d be shocked if he doesn’t play multiple years,” Saleh said. “He looks like a little kid out there.”

Rodgers has also hinted that he didn’t come to New York with thoughts of a one-and-done stay, and with how Rodgers has looked interacting with his new Jets teammates, Saleh isn’t worried about a short stint, nor we he try to pressure Rodgers into committing for multiple years. He believes that will take care of itself.

“I don’t think he needs to. I don’t want to back him into a corner and make him commit to something like that,” Saleh said. “I just want him to have fun and when he walks into this building, to let loose, have a little fun, BS with the guys, come in the office and come talk to us, and just enjoy playing football.

“Odds are, if you enjoy playing football, you’re gonna want to keep doing it.”
