Sal doesn’t buy for a second that the Jets actually believe in Zach Wilson, despite Robert Saleh continuing to voice his belief in the struggling quarterback.
“When you pretend - who does he think he’s fooling? You don’t really believe Saleh really believes in Zach Wilson,” Sal said. “If they did, actions speak louder than words, they would show it on the football field, and let him run around and sling it.
“To hear Saleh blindly backing his quarterback - who are you fooling?”
The Jets executed a drive on Sunday where they ran the ball eight straight times, and had little plays where Wilson was given a chance to throw the ball beyond the sticks. With that in mind, despite Saleh’s comments, the head coach can’t truly believe that Wilson is capable of being successful.
“He doubles down on maybe the worst quarterback we’ve ever seen,” Sal said. “Believing in Zach Wilson, or at least pretending to, is borderline offensive.”
