Sal believes the Jets are dead, especially with Zach Wilson at quarterback.
But, with the scuffling Bills losing to the Broncos on Monday night, it’s hard not to think about the slight chance that Gang Green stabilizes itself and wins the AFC East.
“Your playoff hopes are dwindling…however, the division is there for the taking,” Sal told BT. “The Pats are done…one of the worst teams in the league. The Bills, their schedule is only going to get tougher, and you already beat them once. Jets have it right there in front of them, and they haven’t played Miami yet.
“Miami has proven to be soft, losing to every good team they’ve played. The division is there! You should have new hope! Unkillable!”
BT didn’t seem ready to accept any kind of hope after Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, but Sal wasn’t giving in. Regardless of whether you believe the Jets to be a playoff-caliber team, the chance to win a division is there for the taking.
“They’re 4-5, and the next two weeks will determine their season…if they win the next two, they’ll be in the conversation for the division,” Sal said. “Do I think it’s gonna happen? No, I don’t, but you as a Jet fan should be excited about what happened last night. It gave you new hope.”
