After listening to Aaron Rodgers on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Sal gave the star quarterback a rave review for displaying outward leadership that the Jets seem to be lacking, even from the coaching staff.
“I love Aaron Rodgers. How can you not?” Sal said. “How can you not love everything he says and everything he stands for?
“Listen to him talk. That is a bleeping leader! That is an alpha male! That is a man. A full-grown man. Doesn’t care about what you or I say, he’s comfortable within himself, believes certain things, knows right from wrong, and has succeeded at the highest level.”
Rodgers called out the Jets for having “leaks” during the season, particularly the one that led to Monday’s report that Zach Wilson is “reluctant” to take back the starting quarterback role. Rodgers called it “chicken s--t,” and Sal said it was evidence that he has the ability to be the “alpha” in the room that the Jets desperately need.
As for anyone else that can be an alpha for the Jets, Sal says the GM could be a help in that department as well.
“Aaron Rodgers and Joe Douglas can be the long-term solution for the Jets,” Sal said.
