Sal: 'Pathetic' that Jets are so reliant on injured Aaron Rodgers to lead team

Sal was thrilled when the Jets brought in Aaron Rodgers, but the fact that the team is still relying on him so heavily, even as he is unable to play, is an indictment on Gang Green’s leadership structure.

“It shows how pathetic the New York Jets franchise is,” Sal said. “Let me just say, I love Aaron Rodgers. I wanted him here. It was the right move. He got hurt, and I will admit his presence has helped this team, but I think that shows how pathetic they are. His presence has helped more than the head coach himself!

“Everyone is dying for him to come back because the quarterback can’t hack it…it’s wrong. The best-case scenario would be to show that they have a head coach who knows what he’s doing, which they don’t have, and to have a quarterback who knows what he’s doing, which they don’t have.”

Sal wanted to be clear that it is not an indictment on Rodgers himself, but the fact that his mere presence seemed to have such a positive impact on the team on Sunday casts a negative light on the coaches that are expected to have the team fired up and ready to go every week.

“I’m not gonna chastise him. I’m gonna chastise them,” Sal said. “It’s pathetic that the team needs an injured player to come in and be the leader.”
