Stugotz believes this is Jets year to win a Super Bowl
As the Jets continue through the early stages of training camp, Stugotz is battling an unfamiliar feeling with the season fast approaching.
Stugotz actually believes that his Jets are primed for a truly special season in 2024.
“I don’t feel very good about how I feel about the Jets, because I feel like this is the Jets year to win a Super Bowl, and I’ve never felt that in 40 years of being a Jets fan,” Stugotz said.
Stugotz didn’t feel this way last season, even after the Jets made the splash for Aaron Rodgers and boasted both the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year in Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, but now, he doesn’t see Rodgers suffering another catastrophic injury, and sees a roster that is even more loaded with talent than it was prior to last season.
“I told Dan [Le Batard], ‘No, I’m not celebrating this thing, because it’s the Jets, and even the Jets can screw up Aaron Rodgers,’ and they did,” Stugotz said. “There’s no way that’s gonna happen to Aaron Rodgers two years in a row, and if he plays, that Jets team is gonna be really, really good, because that roster is one of the best in the NFL.
“I don’t know what to do with these feelings. I’ve never had them before.”
