Boomer predicts that one day down the road, perhaps when he is retired and sitting on a beach, that there will be a book released about this current run of Jets football.
“There’s gonna come a day, it could be 10 years from now…there’s gonna be a book written about this era of Jets football under Zach Wilson,” Boomer said. “Who wanted him, who didn’t want him.
“The more losing that happens, the more relationships get frayed in the front office. Kind of what happened to the Giants two years ago.”
Boomer believes when it’s all said and done, rumors will start to leak out from the Jets front office in regards to how Wilson was handled, how the Jets stood by him despite having a contending-caliber roster otherwise, and maybe some contentious debates over when it was time to admit defeat with their former No. 2 overall pick. So, stay tuned.
“This is what happens when teams start losing and frustration starts mounting,” Boomer said. “It’s gonna be a real test of the relationship between Joe Douglas, Woody Johnson, and Rob Saleh.”
