Jets fans are getting a look at Aaron Rodgers practicing with the Jets on Tuesday, but Tiki is coming with some deflating realities that Gang Green is facing heading into the season.
The main reason for concern? A lot needs to go right for the season to live up to expectations.
“There is a whole lot that can go wrong,” Tiki said, starting at the top. “Let’s go to Robert Saleh. Is he the right head coach? Is Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett going to have this without-a-doubt impact that lifts the Jets offense to where it hasn’t been before, to where it’s better than the Chiefs, the Bills, the Chargers?
‘The offensive line? Duane Brown is close to 38 years old, Mekhi Becton was bitching about playing right tackle last year and has to earn it this year…it’s a bad start to an important year for him, and also for this offensive line.
‘Breece Hall, coming back from an ACL injury. Is he gonna be what he was earlier in the season?’
Tiki also noted the youth on the defensive side, though he doesn’t deny the talent on the roster. But given Saleh’s lack of experience, Rodgers’ age, and questions along the offensive line, there are multiple parts of this Jets ship that can begin to leak throughout the season, and could cause the ship to sink.
