As Aaron Rodgers makes wave with his comments about the “chicken s--t” leaks from within the Jets resulting in reports of Zach Wilson’s reluctance to be the starter again, Tiki wonders if Jets fans are putting too much stock into what Rodgers has to say about the organization he hasn’t been a part of for all that long.
“Whatever he says, that’s what’s going on with the organization.
That’s the truth,” Tiki said of the perception of Rodgers’ comments. “He might be right, but I have no idea. He’s been here for a cup of coffee…it’s not like he knows everything…but he speaks like he does.”
Rodgers called out multiple “leaks” that have occurred during his first season as a member of the team, but Tiki wonders if the star quarterback has spent enough time with the team to really know exactly how the organization is operating.
“He also wasn’t around here. He was in LA rehabbing,” Tiki said. “He’s seen it from afar like the rest of us, but he’s giving this presentation like he’s sitting in Woody Johnson’s office and they’ve talked through every layer of what’s going on here. I don’t know if he has.”
So, while many rally around Rodgers and his thoughts on the team, Tiki is taking a more cautious approach before putting more weight into Rodgers’ words over other members of the organization.
“We’re listening to it like it’s gospel, and we don’t know that it’s true,” Tiki said. “We don’t know that his opinion is exactly what’s going on.”
