Tiki: No reason why Jets fans should feel anything but 'enthusiasm' about Aaron Glenn hire

Aaron Glenn has reportedly been named head coach of the New York Jets, and Evan and Tiki agree that fans should rally around the new hire instead of lamenting another defensive coordinator with no head coaching experience getting the job.

“Even if you have your reasons on why you believe Aaron Glenn isn’t the answer, there comes a time that we have to come together, rally behind our coach, and hope that we’re wrong about him if you don’t believe in him,” Evan said.

“The fate of the Jets over the next few years is now in the hands of Aaron Glenn.”

The last hire with a similar background ended in disaster with Robert Saleh being fired midseason, but Tiki believes Glenn is different, as he comes with previous experience playing for the Jets, and seems to have the intangibles to change the culture in Florham Park and get the organization heading in the right direction.

“I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t be enthusiastic about this hire,” Tiki said. “He’s a former player who has had success in the roles that he’s had previously…he’s risen quickly, and most importantly, he feels like a leader of men. A confident one at that.

“He’s not going to be overwhelmed by this environment, and he knows the Jets fanbase…the Jets wanted someone familiar with them.”
