Tiki: Jets in danger of 'worst nightmare ever' as Aaron Rodgers to 49ers 'has some validity'

Tiki Barber opened Wednesday’s show waving some serious red flags.

Mainly, Tiki was prepared to ignite all-out panic in Jets Land.

“We got a problem…this might be one of the worst sports days over the last couple of days here in New York,” Tiki said. “The Jets might be about to realize their worst nightmare ever. They haven’t quite mortgaged their future, but they set themselves up with the idea that Aaron Rodgers is going to be their starting quarterback next year, which is gonna help them get to a Super Bowl, but there has always been this inkling of an alternative for Aaron Rodgers with the San Francisco 49ers.”

Amid reports by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the 49ers are taking calls on quarterback Trey Lance, Tiki believes the dominos could be starting to fall where Rodgers ends up closer to his hometown and in San Francisco, not New York, next season.

“All of this little simmering coming out of this thing…about Aaron Rodgers actually going to the 49ers instead of the Jets actually has some validity,” Tiki said.

“If the 49ers trade Trey Lance, and Brock Purdy isn’t available to play this year because of UCL surgery…they will go get - and they’re OK with mortgaging their future - this team will go get Aaron Rodgers if he’s available, and the Jets will be stuck sitting out in the cold with their underwear on, and that’s it.”

Tiki certainly had BT worried about his Jets, though Gang Green still remains confident in their pursuit of Rodgers, considering Joe Douglas told Boomer and Gio earlier this month that Rodgers “is gonna be here.”
