The Jets signed Trevor Siemian on Tuesday, and it was hardly inspiring to Gio, who believes it is confirmation that Gang Green will continue to ride it out with Zach Wilson.
“This is further evidence that they’re going to go down with Zach Wilson,” Gio said. “What could they do better than this? We’ve talked about it for weeks. Bringing in Carson Wentz would be better…trying to make a trade, or at least hearing that they tried to make a trade for a quarterback could start in a few weeks, that would be better.
“This was further evidence that the Jets ship is gonna go down with captain Zach Wilson at the helm, and we’re all going to drown and watch him do this again to us.”
Boomer agrees, and doesn’t see Siemian competing for a starting spot any time soon, but in the NFL, you never know.
“I think there is a realistic situation where if Zach gets hurt, then what?” Boomer said. “I don’t believe you can have two guys on the roster. You need one at least on the practice squad…I would think he’s gonna be mired in just tyring to get up to speed with everything that’s going on around here.
“At the present moment, I would say yes, but things change relatively quickly in the NFL.”
