Zach Wilson has arrived at Jets training camp, and not surpisingly had to field questions unrelated to football after the social media drama that surfaced surrounding the breakup with ex-girlfriend Abbey Gile.
The wildfire of speculation began when Gile replied to an Instagram comment claiming that Wilson had slept with his mom’s best friend, a claim that Wilson’s mother refuted on a social media post of her own, and Wilson brushed that off as well at training camp.
“It’s just focusing on football and that’s really all I can do,” Wilson said. “It is what it is.
“I’m excited to be here with the boys and to be in Idaho with those guys at the time too. I’m excited to just get better every single day. That’s all I’ve been focusing on.”
While in Idaho, Wilson shared a playful Instagram post asking “What did I miss?” after days of being off the grid. Now, he’s back on the gridiron, and ready to focus on what matters.
“It comes with the position, so really it’s just handling my business and handling what matters,” Wilson said. “Keeping my family tight, and we’re all good. I’m excited to be here and focus on football. I've never felt mentally like I'm in a better spot, so I'm excited to be here.”
