According to Bob Klapisch of NJ.com, the Yoshinobu Yamamoto sweepstakes could extend beyond the holidays and bump right up against the Jan. 5 deadline to sign a deal.
That's dragging it out too long for Keith, who wonders if the Japanese star is milking this for all that it's worth.
"I'm over it now," Keith said. "We were all sure this was the week. We all thought he would decide before Christmas. "I look at this guy like a girl on a dating app who is just matching with as many guys as she can match with, trying to get free meals. Trying to get free dates. Trying to see if any suckers will send money on her CashApp."
Yamamoto is relatively an unknown by fans in the United States, but Keith is starting to get the sense that the Japanese star is someone who wants the spotlight for as long as possible, and for himself.
"This guy loves the attention. This guy is eating it up," Keith said. "He knows he's the next big domino to fall, and he's leaning all the way into it.
"What is taking so long? They're milking it for every dinner they can get."
