Keith McPherson was live on the air as his Nets stormed back to stun the freefalling Knicks at The Garden on Wednesday night, and you know he was soaking up every bit of New York's misery once the final buzzer sounded.
Keith declared that the final horn wasn't just blaring to signal the completion of the Knicks' latest epic collapse. It was also signaling the end of their once-hopeful season.
"The Nets just put a dagger into the Knicks' season," Keith celebrated. "If you didn't think it was over, it is over now. I don't know who you got to get rid of. If it's Thibs, he can go, [Scott] Perry, [Leon] Rose, maybe it's [James] Dolan. Sell the team. What an embarrassment."
Coughing up a 28-point lead and an 18-point advantage in the fourth quarter was plenty of reason for the Knicks to be trolled, especially when it came at the hands of Keith's Nets, who were without Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, and Ben Simmons.
"'We had 'em!'" Keith said, mocking the reactions of Knicks fans. "'We were up by 28! Those refs, man!'"
The Knicks have now lost 12 of their last 15 heading into the All-Star break. If you ask Keith, there is no reason to watch them once they return to action next week. The season is over.
"RIP, bozos. That's all she wrote," Keith said. "You lost to a bunch of backups, you lost to guys that aren't even going to play when our actual guys get back. You thought you dodged a bullet with Kyrie Irving not playing.
"Bing Bong!"
