Keith: Mets fans should worry about own roster needs instead of ripping every Yankees move

Keith McPherson is tired of hearing from Mets fans after every Yankees transaction.

In the wake of losing Juan Soto to their crosstown rival, the Bombers have made several moves to address key roster needs, from bolstering the pitching staff with Max Fried and Devin Williams to now boosting the team's defensive versatility and offensive potential with the acquisition of former MVP Cody Bellinger. After the Bellinger deal was announced on Tuesday, Keith sounded off on the continued comments from Mets fans, still rubbing it in that Soto now resides in Queens.

"We're not competing anymore. Let us build our team and worry about building your own team," Keith said. "Clay Holmes is talking about pitching 160 innings. Worry about that.

"You got it, man. Big bro? Act like it. Stop acting like big bullies."

As the Mets rightfully bask in the acquisition of Soto, a superstar who chose them over the Yankees, the Bombers have gotten right back to work and made several big moves, and Keith says the Mets haven't done much of anything since the Soto deal, so their fans should focus on their own team.

"We're in different leagues," Keith said. "The Yankees are looking like the best team in the American League. They're looking like the team that just won the American League, and is winning the off-season. They're looking like they're trying to stack the team.

"Worry about your own problems," Keith said. "You might not even be a top 3-4 team in the National League right now. You're not, on paper.

"Let's go back to not competing…we don't have to worry about each other until May 16. Let people enjoy things."
