Keith: Subway Series expansion 'another win for MLB'
Major League Baseball is beefing up the Subway Series in 2025, as the new schedule revealed a pair of three-game series between the Yankees and Mets, both of which will take place on weekends, including a three-game set over Fourth of July weekend.
"Another win for MLB," Keith said. "As much as people love to say 'MLB does everything wrong, they can't get out of their own way,' this was a pleasant surprise, especially because of little tweaks and changes.
"I like that we're going back to three and three. I like that we're going back to weekends. Citi Field, 9/11, that weekend, Mets and Yankees. That was incredible…we're gonna get that again. Fourth of July, that's gonna be a movie."
In years past, many Mets fans have lamented facing the mighty Yanks six times, but times have changed, and Keith said the playing field is leveling out, which should make for a fun expanded Subway Series next season.
"The Yankees are the Yankees," Keith said. "But David Stearns, Steve Cohen, and the Mets are building something that is not too far from the Yankees."
