Keith: Watching football in person is worse than any other sport

Local football is back on Thursday night, as the Giants open their preseason slate against the Lions, which sparked a discussion from Keith regarding watching football games live vs. in person.

For Keith, at this stage in his life, the answer is an easy one.

"Football is the worst sport live," Keith said. "Especially as I'm getting older, I like the comfort of my brand new couch and 75-inch TV. Being able to eat and drink what I want, go to the bathroom and not have to worry about the bathrooms being a mess."

Football viewing on TV offers close-up replays on close calls that are challenged or under review, and Sunday afternoon viewing when several games are going on at once offers an advantage to watching from home. For Keith, he'll take his couch over the nosebleeds at MetLife Stadium.

"With gambling and fantasy, I don't want to go to one game, unless it's Sunday Night Football or Monday Night Football and there's no other game on," Keith said. "I want to see everything. I want to watch Red Zone. I want to see my fantasy team or my parlays hit in real time."
