With the No. 42 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected Duke shooting guard Trevor Keels, the fifth Blue Devil to go in the first 42 picks.
Keels was a McDonald's All-American in 2021 as Virginia's Gatorade Player of the Year at Paul VI Catholic, and made the ACC All-Rookie team in his only season at Duke. He played 36 games for the Blue Devils, averaging 11.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 36 games, starting 26 of those contests.
The 6-foot-5 18-year-old likely ends up as the Knicks' only pick of the night, as they dealt the No. 11 selection, Ousmane Dieng, to Oklahoma City in their first of two trades on draft night.
If this is it for the Knicks, their sum total on draft night is drafting Keels and dealing Dieng and four future second-round picks for three future first-round picks and Kemba Walker's contract.
