Boomer: Changes needed for Knicks, starting with Mitchell Robinson

With the Knicks season over, Boomer and Gio discussed what’s next for the team after their most successful season in 24 years.

“I think that most of this team, if you could bring it back, should be back,” Gio said.

Boomer agrees that the core of Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby should be kept together, but he wants to see some changes to the roster, including moving on from Mitchell Robinson, who is still under contract for another two years.

“I think it’s time to move on from a couple guys here who have been here a little too long,” Boomer said. “Mitchell Robinson being one of them, just because of the injuries. I appreciate him trying to play through it and him knowing his role, but they have no offense coming from that position. They really have very little coming from that spot offensively.

“If you can’t count on a guy’s availability, how much is he worth? I think it’s just gotten to that point…that’s something that they really need to consider, if they’re going to end up having him on this roster or not next year.”
