Boomer couldn't believe Knicks free throw woes in season opener

Boomer wasn't going to overreact after one game, and said there were positives to be taken away from the Knicks' season-opening loss to the Celtics on Wednesday night.

"To the Knicks credit, they hung with them, even though two of their best players played awful," Boomer said, noting the shooting struggles of Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson.

However, Boomer couldn't get past how badly the Knicks struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 14-for-26 from the charity stripe in in a four-point loss, as the team's foul shot woes likely decided the game.

"They missed so many damn free throws. It was ridiculous!" Boomer said. "Don't you guys practice free throws? Every team should be practicing free throws. You had to keep missing free throws? You gotta be kidding me. They're free! Go make them!"
