Julius Randle lost his cool (again) on Thursday night, receiving a technical foul for the third straight game before getting into it with his own teammate in Immanuel Quickley.
For Boomer, it was the last straw, and he wants the All-Star off the team.
“It seems like we’ve been talking about it for four freaking years,” Boomer said. “Our buddy Julius Randle decides to snap again, and he has one of these freaking meltdowns. He may be a great player…but man, it’s getting exhausting. It had already been exhausting, and now it’s to the point where it’s like, ‘Come on dude. We’re never gonna win with you.’
“They have to get rid of him. This is it. This is the end of it. I don’t care, it doesn’t matter…it’s exhausting for everyone on the team, his teammates, his coaching staff. It’s just too much.”
Gio chimed in that a playoff run for the Knicks would fix any animosity that the fanbase has reignited when it comes to Randle, but Boomer says it should matter how far they go. No matter the outcome, he wants Randle out of New York.
“I give him five times to act like that,” Boomer said. “This was like time number 20.
“He’s one of the best players on the team and one of the leaders on the team. This is the last thing you want at this point of the season. You don’t want your star player just snapping every night.”
