Boomer's anger with Joel Embiid grows after watching highlights of fouls: 'Crossed the line'

Boomer said it was “unbecoming of a superstar” to see Joel Embiid constantly pleading for whistles while dishing out hard fouls of his own in game three, and after watching more video of Embiid’s antics on Thursday night, he only grew angrier.

“It is obvious. It is really obvious,” Boomer said. “I hope the Knicks take some of this video and send them to the league office and say ‘this is what’s going on.’

“When you look at all of it and put it in context of what’s going on…and watch him on the court when he’s always screaming for a foul…these three games, he’s having a full-game conversation with the referees from the moment the ball is tipped until the game is over.”

Boomer says the officials should have been harder on Embiid, who pulled down on Mitchell Robinson’s ankle as the Knicks center went up for a putback in the first half. Robinson eventually left the game, left the arena in a walking boot, and his availability for the rest of the series is in doubt.

“He crossed the line,” Boomer said. “He crossed the line so much that one of our key players, especially defending him, might be out for the series in Mitchell Robinson.”
