Can the Knicks sweep the Cavaliers and go on a deep playoff run?
Seems like Tiki & Tierney believe that's possible, as BT had this to say about the prospects on Monday:
"The New York Knicks, once they smack these kids in Cleveland…I'm thinking sweep," BT said. "What they have is two stars, incredible depth, and just a really good team that by the way is built for playoff success," BT said Monday. "Now, you start to look forward a little bit here. Giannis' back is jacked up, and they lost the first game. Tyler Herro busted his hand, so he's out no matter who wins that series. I would imagine the Bucks still find a way to win, but we will be talking about the Knicks for months on this show. They're going all the way."
Tierney believes the Knicks, if they advance, can get by either Milwaukee or Miami, and that leaves whomever comes out of the Nets, Sixers, Celtics, or Hawks in the Conference Finals.
Tiki, meanwhile, was a little more reserved.
"Hold on one second: how was your weekend? Because you're coming crazy this morning man!" Tiki shot back. "Maybe you're a little hungover now? The Knicks won one game! Yes, the Cavs looked overmatched in a sense, and the Knicks didn't even play well, but I think the Cavaliers played a terrible game at home."
Tiki admitted the Cavs are in desperation mode after losing Game 1 at home, but he thinks Giannis Antetokounmpo, who played just six minutes in Game 1, will find a way to play through pain.
Oh, and the Knicks aren't winning eight games out of eight to 14.
"They're not sweeping the Cavs, and then getting through the Bucks or Heat, and then getting to the Finals to probably face the Celtics or Sixers? That's a grind," Tiki said.
"There's baseless enthusiasm, and there's enthusiasm rooted in how a team matches up with the others," BT shot back. "If you want to say I'm overzealous, fine, but I said two months ago the Knicks had the goods to get to the Eastern Conference Finals."
They do have a 1-0 lead, so at least there's a chance at both?
