BT: Knicks can't last with starters playing over 40 minutes a game
BT and Sal were both hardly inspired by the Knicks' game one win, and BT says the bigger issue is the workload on the team's starters that he feels is starting to wear on the players down the stretch of games.
"The Knicks malfunction at the end of these games," BT said. "They make a lot of sloppy turnovers.
"I think they're exhausted. They're tired."
Jalen Brunson committed a costly turnover in the fourth quarter in game one, and would have had another had it not been for a kick ball call that the referees admitted was a mistake after the game. With the Knicks' rotation already slimmed down due to the absence of Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanovich, BT says the team can't be expected to log 40-plus minutes every other night and be at their best down the stretch as the playoffs wear on.
"Mitchell Robinson played 11 minutes, McBride played 10, and you did see Achiuwa for four minutes. I don't understand how people don't think this is an issue," BT said.
"It's not a natural level of exertion for the human body without multiple days to regenerate…I don't know what Tom Thibodeau is gonna do."
