BT is still optimistic about the Knicks' chances of making a run to the Finals, even after an unprecedented wave of injuries has led to four straight losses and a slight dip in the Eastern Conference standings heading into the All-Star break.
In fact, BT believes that the injuries could wind up being a blessing in disguise when looking at the bigger picture and a hopeful deep playoff run.
"The only thing I worry about with this team…the minutes is an issue," BT said, noting the heavy workloads that Tom Thibodeau tasks his key players with on a nightly basis. "In a weird way, this is actually a gift.
"It is forcing the Knicks' best players to unplug, regenerate, get healthy, and be fresh for the playoff run."
So, with the belief that all of the walking wounded will return, BT believes the Knicks will have enough time to get healthy and get acclimated with their trade deadline acquisitions to be firing on all cylinders come playoff time.
"I'm looking at these pieces, and I have no doubt that they're gonna fit. they have a superstar, a terrific coach, another All-Star, they got some shooters, and depth," BT said. "Don't overreact to what has been maybe the most unfair set of cards any team we've watched for a while has been dealt. What they've been dealt, this ain't right."
