After the Knicks showed some heart in game five to save their season following two embarrassing performances in Miami, BT is officially declaring the season a success, regardless of what happens in game six and potentially beyond.
"It's almost gonna sound like a loser take. That's fine," BT said. "The season is a success. The Knicks have officially over-delivered."
All BT wanted to see was some fight from New York in game five, and a valiant effort to defend their home court. The team did that, matching their best playoff win total in 10 years, and BT calls that a resounding win given the expectations the team had coming into the season.
"They owed us last night…the Knicks owed us what they gave us last night," BT said. "They owed us for being the great fans that we are, and for taking the bait. I am at the point now, no matter what happens, I'm proud of these Knicks, and I'm accepting of the fate that we get.
"For a franchise that consistently under-delivers - they draft the wrong guy, they hire the wrong guy - the Knicks really are what we scream about all the time on the FAN. We want teams that give us a chance to dream. They've given us that. We want a team that's gonna represent the virtues of this city. It was on hiatus down in Miami when we got pushed around, but it was back last night."
