The Knicks are back in action on Friday night after enjoying the extended All-Star break, and the lull in action did not diminish BT’s hopes that this ‘Bockers group could make a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
“I am more excited about this Knick team than the team that won 54 games when Carmelo was still in his prime,” BT said. “I am really excited about the possibilities for this team.”
And the hot takes just kept on coming.
“Jalen Brunson is better than Carmelo Anthony, because he is miles more efficient. Carmelo Anthony used to drive me nuts.
“I’m not saying [2013] wasn’t fun, but this Knicks team…they’re young, they’re defensive, they’re deep, and they got some shooters. The only guy I really worry about is RJ Barrett…but at least there’s an option now. If RJ Barrett ain’t shooting, he can sit, and you can put Josh Hart out there.”
With Hart in the rotation and Mitchell Robinson set to return from his thumb fracture, BT says the Knicks are looking like a complete team that is absolutely capable of doing damage in the playoffs.
“The Knicks are gonna have a team, with Mitchell Robinson coming back, with a star point guard, a star forward, an outstanding, elite, shot-blocking center…and shooters,” BT said. “I think the Knicks have a chance to be really good.”
