BT: Tom Thibodeau isn't right coach for Knicks

The Knicks were rolling on Wednesday night, until suddenly, they were crumbling.

A 23-point lead turned into an 18-point deficit, and only raised the volume of questions about Evan Fournier's role in the starting lineup, and Obi Toppin's lack of minutes compared to Julius Randle, who has been reverting back to last season's form over the past four games.

Brandon Tierney says that falls on head coach Tom Thibodeau, who isn't the right man for the job when it comes to this Knicks team.

"The Knicks have the wrong person coaching them. They just do," BT said. "I don't want to be that guy who is insensitive and just fire everybody. But it's so clear that the skillset of Tom Thibodeau does not match what this Knicks team needs. This team needs somebody who develops young kids and trusts rolling with them."

BT, sharing the criticisms of many Knicks fans, says Thibodeau needs to show more of a willingness to try different rotations and not be so loyal to some of his struggling veteran starters, and instead give the young core a chance to show their worth, especially when many of them show a superior efficiency to the veterans when they do get a chance to play.

"The rotations are wacky…this guy is hot and then he sits down," BT said. "Fournier can't start. You have to sit him. If I'm Tom Thibodeau….in a week or so, [Quentin] Grimes has to start, and Fournier has to be a sniper off the bench...He has to be adaptable."
