C-Mac not expecting OG Anunoby back in Pacers series

C-Mac say the Knicks will be gearing up for their biggest game in 25 years when they tip off against the Pacers in game five on Tuesday night, but he doesn't expect them to have one of their most important players back for the pivotal matchup.

"I'd be surprised if Anunoby plays in the rest of the series. He's still doing pool work," C-Mac said.

"They're gonna have to figure out a way without him. Again, game three, they were up nine points with 10 minutes left. It took missed foul shots and a miraculous 3-pointer to beat them. I still believe in this team."

Anunoby has transformed the Knicks since being acquired in January, as his arrival immediately sparked a run where New York looked like one of the best teams in the NBA. With Anunoby, the Knicks looked like the clear better team through two games against the Pacers, as he was in the midst of one of his best games as a Knick before injuring his hamstring in game two. New York clearly doesn't have the same firepower on both ends of the floor without their starting forward, and while C-Mac doesn't expect him back, he doesn't believe that means the Knicks are doomed in this series.

"I don't think [Sunday] was an inside look at what the rest of the series will provide," C-Mac said. "I think they will go right back into playing a game where the last 30 seconds will decide it all, and in those 30 seconds, I trust the Knicks."
