The Knicks fell to the Cavaliers at MSG on Wednesday night, failing to sweep the home-and-home set with Cleveland after winning on the road the night before.
New York was sunk by an abysmal shooting night, highlighted by the continued struggles of Julius Randle, who C-Mac didn't hold back on in criticizing the All-Star's play to start the season.
"Julius Randle absolutely stinks to start the year," C-Mac said. "It's frustrating when one of the best pieces of your team is the limitation. That's what it feels like watching the Knicks and Julius Randle."
Randle shot just 3-for-15 from the floor, and is shooting a miserable 27.6 percent from the field to begin the season. His shooting struggles are painfully reminiscent to his 2021-22 campaign, when he fell off dramatically from his Most Improved Player season the year before. His drop-off that year was largely due to being one of the worst two-point shooters in the league, and C-Mac can only hope history isn't about to repeat itself.
"He's been lost," C-Mac said. "Go back and watch some of the plays. His effort level in this game was embarrassing. He's been miserable from the field, the free throw line, he's just been terrible to start the season. Absolutely atrocious.
"He has been brutal to start this season. Absolutely brutal. He's been careless with the basketball, he's shown no effort, he's shot the ball terribly, just been absolutely atrocious."
