Evan opened Wednesday's show promising blood for Knicks fans waiting to hear his misery after New York came back to beat the Nets on Tuesday night, and boy did he deliver.
"The atmosphere was amazing thanks to Knicks fans," Evan said. "They filled that building up. They took over. I admit, Knicks fans took over my building with raucous noise.
"I wish I never picked this freaking team. I wish I was never born into this earth and rooted for this garbage. I wish I never had to be in my own building and get humiliated the way I was last night."
Evan has often pushed back on the "nobody cares about the Nets" argument from Knicks fans, especially during the superteam era. But now, he can't counter that refrain anymore.
"Every stereotype, everything you bastards have told me over the last 20 years, all those arrogant things that weren't true anymore, they were true again," Evan said. "That's what kills me. You filled up my building. I can't deny that…I was in New Jersey again, and that kills me."
