Evan doesn't get how Knicks fans are thanking team for great season after second round exit

Evan understands the Knicks fans wondering what could have been after they were ravaged by injuries this postseason, but he doesn't get how such a large portion of the fanbase could seemingly accept the team's fate after they were routed in game seven.

"I don't understand the 'thank yous,' the cheers, the standing ovations that were given out yesterday," Evan said. "When my team loses, it doesn't matter how. It doesn't matter why. When they lose and the season ends, I don't sit there like 'Well, we accomplished a lot, and it was a lot of fun.'

"I'm saying it because I'm genuine as a sports fan. Here are the facts: the Knicks got eliminated in the second round of the postseason, the same place they got eliminated a year ago. They had a lead in game three with a 2-0 series lead and they blew it. Facts. The facts are, they got blown out in a game seven at home."

Evan wouldn't be feeling gratitude for the season if he were a Knicks fan, at least not yet. Right now, he would be more angrily focused on the game three lead that slipped away, and being blown out in a winner-take-all game at home on Sunday.

"Yes, the Knicks were ravaged by injuries. I don't deny that," Evan said. "If the Knicks were healthy, they probably win the series…but let me say this from experience. That doesn't make me feel better. It never did, and it never will.

"What happened to you? Why are we celebrating? Why are we happy? Do I have to be the voice of reason? I'd be pissed. I'd be angry. I'd be devastated about my season ending."
