Jalen Brunson has been another on level for the playoff-bound Knicks, entering Friday’s game against the Celtics riding a streak of four straight games with at least 35 points, and has helped New York weather the storm of injuries to be in the running to finish as high as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Brunson continues to surprise Evan with his level of play, which he says now has him among the very best in the NBA.
“Jalen Brunson continues to be ridiculous,” Evan said. “I remember having the argument about how good he is, is he a top five or 10 player. Over the last month, he has played like a top three player. He has been on that kind of insane level with the type of basketball he has played recently.”
As the Knicks close in on the postseason, Evan says Brunson looks like he is at his best, which is exactly what New York needs to make a run and take the next step.
“I give him all the flowers that you can give a star. He has played at just a ridiculous level,” Evan said. “I feel like he’s playing smart, within the rhythm of the game, and is playing at a ridiculously high level.”
