Evan says the Knicks had a great win on Monday night against the Warriors, but in the end, it was a bad night for the team.
Just before New York tipped off with Golden State, it was revealed that OG Anunoby was headed back home for an MRI on his surgically-repaired elbow. Evan says that is what matters right now, because if Anunoby and Julius Randle can't return for the playoffs, the goals for the season are dead.
"Do you think you're going anywhere if they don't get healthy? Ask yourself that question," Evan said. "The reality is this: If OG Anunoby is not healthy, if Julius Randle is not healthy…they're going nowhere.
"They won last night, but the news on Anunoby was not good. If you choose to ignore that, fine. I'm just telling you the reality."
With no updates on Randle, and now a cloudy future for Anunoby, Evan isn't confident that the team will be back to full strength in a month when the playoffs begin, and even with Jalen Brunson, the Knicks can't make a playoff run without two of their three best players.
"OG Anunoby is hurt again, and we don't know when he's coming back," Evan said. "Julius Randle remains hurt, and we don't know when he's coming back.
"It was a great win, but yesterday was a bad day for the Knicks."
