Evan: Knicks proved they would smoke 'fraud' Cavaliers in playoff rematch

Evan, while watching the Knicks take down the Cavaliers, came to the realization that should the two teams meet again in the playoffs, the outcome won’t be much different than when New York smacked Cleveland in the first round a year ago.

“I thought they learned,” Evan said. “They were playing differently in 2024, overcoming injuries in 2024. Last night, the Knicks, without Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, and Jalen Brunson for all but 44 seconds of them, reminded them who their daddies are. They can’t beat you.

“You can mark my words right now on March 4. If you play those frauds from Cleveland, you’re gonna smoke them. They’re frauds, and the Knicks reminded you of that.”

Both teams were shorthanded, as the Cavs were without Donovan Mitchell and Caris Levert, but the Knicks were even more depleted after the injury to Brunson. Still, New York came away with the win, and it didn’t help Evan’s thought on the potency of the Cavs.

“If you play this team, you will smoke this team,” Evan said. “They are frauds.”
