After Julius Randle threw down a two-handed slam in transition late in the fourth quarter to all but seal the game for the Knicks, the likely All-Star raised his hands to pump up the crowd that was raining cheers down on him.
At the Barclays Center.
Evan was in attendance for it, one of the few stunned Nets fans in attendance as Knicks fans dominated the arena. It is something he won't forget, and plans on rubbing it back in Randle's face in a few months.
"I'm gonna be in the building in the middle of May," Evan said, looking ahead to the likely playoffs at Madison Square Garden. "My team will be long gone, but you'll be there. when these fans, who deep down don't like you…they know when the chips are on the line, you're gonna come up small. And I'm gonna tell you this right now. When the crowd starts booing and turn on you, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna stand up on the Chase Bridge and do the Julius. I'm gonna put my hand up and I'm gonna say 'More, more.' Because I don't forget."
Tiki thought it was a bit of an overreaction, but Evan was far from over the gesture from Randle.
"He made it personal!" Evan said. "He's in my freaking house, and he made it personal! So you want to make it personal, Julius? I'll be in your house in May and I'll do the same freaking thing."
