The Yankees open their ALCS bout with the Astros on Wednesday night, while the Knicks open their season against the Grizzlies.

But with the Yanks still marching and the Giants and Jets surprisingly still winning, Gio says the buzz from last year’s season opener for the ‘Bockers is gone.

“Right now, there’s no buzz,” Gio said. “We’ve got two winning football teams, we got the Yankees in the ALCS, and that stuff will have to be talked about later.

“It would be great if they got off to a great start and maybe provided some buzz around the city, but it’s probably not going to happen. It’s all about the Jets, Giants, and Yankees right now.”

Boomer and Gio aren’t very hopeful about the Knicks this year, with Gio saying he would not bet on New York finishing with a .500 record this year.

“That game against Boston last year, they opened up and they win, and that’s great,” Boomer said. “But then you watch Boston last night, and you’re like, ‘do the Knicks even have a chance?’”

“They don’t,” Gio replied. “That’s your answer right there.”
