Gio says series is over, 76ers have 'absolute loser mentality'
Joel Embiid declared that the 76ers will still win their series against the Knicks, even after losing a heartbreaker on Monday night to fall into a 2-0 hole.
Gio says Embiid is half right. The series is over, but it won't be Philly coming away with the win.
"This series is over," Gio said. "The way the 76ers reacted after this game, it just shows me they are losers. Absolute loser mentality.
"They blew that game. They were up and in control for the majority of the first half…then they stormed back after the Knicks were up eight in the fourth quarter…I thought the game was over at that point, and they choked."
For Gio, hearing how Embiid and the Sixers reacted to the game two loss only cemented the fact thjat they're toast.
"I don't want to hear about the no timeouts, the fouls, none of that," Gio said. "The Knicks are a better team, they're more resilient, they're not excuse-making, which is everything the Sixers were last night."
